Have The Reserves To Persevere

Every Seed of Adversity

"Every great man, every successful man, no matter what the field of endeavor, has known the magic that lies in these words: Every Adversity Has the Seed of an Equivalent or Greater Benefit."

-- W. Clement Stone

"Despite our passion for romantic love, relationships are not the easiest way to find love and peace. They are, however, one of the most effective for finding our blocks.

Relationships naturally bring out into full view our desires, attachments and unconscious programs - our likes, dislikes, belief systems, judgments, compulsions, conformities, etc. Relationships challenge us because they take us deep into thoughts, feelings and experiences we have suppressed for a lifetime. That's why they provide the very best arena for personal growth!"

-- John Robson

Negators Will Destroy Your Plan

"Be extra, extra cautious about this: don't let negative thinking people —"negators"—destroy your plan to think yourself to success. Negators are everywhere and they seem to delight in sabotaging the positive progress of others."

-- David Joseph Schwartz

"It doesn't much signify whom one marries, for one is sure to find out the next morning that it was someone else."

-- Samuel Rogers

"Human relationships are the perfect tool for sanding away our rough edges and getting at the core of divinity within us."

-- Eknath Easwaran

When You Are Undergoing What You Believe

"When Divine Intelligence wants a great man or woman to render some needed service in the world, the fortunate one is tested out through some form of failure.  If you are undergoing what you believe to be failure, have patience; you may be passing through your testing time."

-- Napoleon Hill

"View money and things not as something you create to fill a lack, but as tools to help you more fully express yourself and realize your potential."

"The key to getting lots of strangers to work together is not to create an endless stream of new laws or institutions but to create a set of shared values. Laws are something you merely obey. Values are something you feel."

Get Off The Victim Routine

"Once we get off the victim routine, it's amazing how creative we can become.  We begin to pull our power and fill ourselves with enthusiasm and a sense of wonder at the huge number of possibilities."

-- Susan Jeffers

"What is [the role of money] in the search for meaning? Is our relationship to it one of the chief factors that keeps us in our prison, or could it also be a tool for breaking out, for awakening to a life filled with intensity of purpose?"

-- Jacob Needleman

"Money is not required to buy one necessity of the soul."

The Abundance That Flows Our Daily Life

"Consider the abundance that flows into your daily life. Cultivating gratitude nourishes our state of mind, moving us effortlessly beyond the repressive grip of the ego and its illusion of unworthiness."

-- Gary Dooley

"Our personality has a need for security. As a human in a material world, we need money to survive. If we don't have enough for basics, our lives cannot function. At the same time, with too much emphasis on the material, we lose the spiritual awareness that brings meaning and fulfillment. The key lies in the balance.

What draws most of your attention, time and energy: spiritual growth or money? Reflect on (or better yet, journal on) the balance or lack of balance of these two in your life."

-- John Robson

Take Things In Stages

"You have to take things in stages, and the first stage is deciding what is important to you – what you are going to change. The next is to realize that it may be difficult and time-consuming, but that – if you have a plan – anything is possible. Acknowledge that there will be difficulties and drawbacks; the time will never be right and you will always have reasons to put things off and become discouraged."

-- Sue Hadfield

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life."

-- Omar Khayyam

"May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder."

-- John O'Donohue

All Of Us Makes Mistakes

"Everyone makes mistakes on thier way to success, and some people learn from them, and others don't.  You have to be one of the people who learn from their mistakes.  You have to try something until you get a 'hit' that works and is successful.  And keep in mind that you may encounter many mistakes before you acquire overall success."

-- Barry Parker

"Two people have been living in you all your life. One is the ego, garrulous, demanding, hysterical, calculating; the other is the hidden spiritual being, whose still voice of wisdom you have only rarely heard or attended to - you have uncovered in yourself your own wise guide."

-- Sogyal Rinpoche

"Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words."

Our Spiritual Journey

Our spiritual journey unfolds through two stages.

THE PATH OF PERSONALITY

We arise from the one source of all, to be born as individuals in a world of form. In this physical world, we experience separation and limitation. This is a time of immersion in a world of effects, form, ego, distortion, illusion and pain.

THE PATH OF SOUL

When we have experienced enough pain, we find our way back home to our spiritual source. We let go of the illusion of separation to embrace unity and wholeness. We work with cause instead of effects.

Paradoxically, it's only with a strong and healthy personality that we become capable of expressing soul.

WHERE ARE YOU ON YOUR PATH?

Are you struggling to do more and have more?
Are you aware of your soul challenging you to open to the bigger picture of life?

When You Change Yourself

"You can change all things for the better when you change yourself for the better.  After all, you aren't just a plant or an animal, completely dependent on instinctive behaviour.  You are a human being, a most remarkable creation."

-- Jim Rohn

"For peace of mind, we need to resign as general manager of the universe."

-- Larry Eisenberg

"The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper."

-- W.B. Yeats

Accepting The Law of Cause and Effect

"Accept the law of cause and effect. Take a second look at what appears to be someone's "good luck." You'll find not luck but preparation, planning, and success-producing thinking preceded his good fortune."

-- David Joseph Schwartz, Ph.D.

"If our minds are always busy, they don't get time to do basic maintenance - to sort, tidy up and take out the trash. If we don't periodically clear out space in our minds, there are no room for new ideas to take root.

Where do you find stillness each day and each week? Plan for quiet time, relaxation and stillness daily, even if it's only for 5 or 10 minutes."

-- John Robson

When Your Friends Constantly Complain

"If your freinds constantly complain, the solution is simple, find new friends.  Don't feel disloyal.  They'll have no problem finding someone else to complain to."

-- Susan Jeffers

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

-- Mary Oliver

"My greatest wealth is the deep stillness in which I strive and grow and win what the world cannot take from me with fire or sword."

-- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Our Unconscious Mind Directed By Our Words

"Words direct our unconscious mind to establish automatic tendencies towards a positive or negative view of the world. Since we were not born with either view, it seems we have unconsciously programmed ourselves one way or the other."

-- Gary Dooley

"Mysterious and intimidating to contemplate, the human brain is the most complex thing there is and the most difficult task it can undertake is to understand itself."

-- David Noonan

"I don't think God cares where we were graduated or what we did for a living. God wants to know who we are. Discovering this is the work of the soul - it is our true life̢۪s work."

-- Bernie Siegel

Give Yourself Time To Think

"When you never have time to make love, or even to feel passionate and loving, then life has become a treadmill, where you have lost sight of what is important. If you think this is where you are heading, then take a step back and give yourself time to think and to breathe."

-- Sue Hadfield

"How deeply can you answer this question? Please realize that you are the only one who can answer it. No one else can tell you who you are. You must discover this for yourself. And the challenge of knowing ourselves is no easy task. We hope this question excites rather than intimidates you. There's so much more to you than you know at present! Isn't this intriguing? Perhaps it's time to go exploring."

-- John Robson

Your Life Equal To Your Environment

"You are a product of your environment.  So choose the environment that will best develop you toward your objective. Analyze your life in terms of its environment.  Are the things around you helping you toward success or are they holding you back?"

-- W. Clement Stone

"To lead people walk behind them."

-- Lao Tzu

With Enthusiasm Nothing Can Stop You

"With enough enthusiasm, nothing can stop you; it can, indeed, help give you anything you want in life.  It creates persistence; enthusiastic people do not give up until they achieve their goal.  And in most cases this is what makes the difference."

-- Barry Parker

The Key To Your Winning

"The key to winning what you want lies in thinking positively toward yourself. The only real basis other people have for judging your abilities is your actions. And your actions are controlled by your thoughts."

-- David Joseph Schwartz

"Who am I? To answer this, we must first learn to become more aware of ourselves. To be aware, we must STOP and PAY ATTENTION! We need to STOP and objectively watch ourselves in action.

We live most of our lives by habit. These habits keep us stuck in patterns that limit our experience of life. Once we detect a pattern we were previously unconscious of, we can choose differently, if we want. With awareness comes choice and with choice, we gain freedom."

-- John Robson

What Our Mind Attracts

"We know that our mind attracts what we think about, so if we mentally rehearse the changes we want, we provide it with a target at which to direct its subliminal attention. Seeing internal pictures of ourselves in the outcomes we want is one of the most influential habits we could ever cultivate in our desire for change."

-- Gary Dooley

"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. ...I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing."

-- Oriah Mountain Dreamer

How To Keep Your Dream Alive

"If your dream is to travel and see more of the world, keep your dream alive by having a photograph or picture of the places that you would like to visit on your fridge or your desk (use travel brochures). Don't leave it until it is too late: don't become one of those people who spent their later years regretting the things they didn't do."

-- Sue Hadfield

"We are each unique beings with a unique path in life. If we wish to be fulfilled, we need to go to our own hearts for direction. We might regularly ask ourselves:

"What do I really want to do?"
"What brings me greatest happiness?"
"How can I bring more of these into my life?"
Life wants us to go for what brings us most joy and meaning."

-- John Robson

How To Stretch Yourself To Succeed Forever

"To achieve a big goal, you are going to have to become a bigger person. You are going to have to develop new skills, new attitudes, and new capabilities. You are going to have to stretch yourself, and in so doing, you will be stretched forever."

-- Jack Canfield

"We don't always know what makes us happy. We know, instead, what we think SHOULD. We are baffled and confused when our attempts at happiness fail...We are mute when it comes to naming accurately our own preferences, delights, gifts, talents. The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people's expectations. The tongue of the original self is the language of the heart."

-- Julia Cameron

Stop That Forever Thinking and Try Something

"We would advise anyone who is doing something they haven't done before is to constantly experiment.  Don't spend forever thinking, try some stuff.  It is works great.  But it's great if it doesn't work as well, as long as you learn and then adjust what you are doing.  The most important thing is to take action and make some progress."

-- Richard Newton and Ciprian Adrian Rusen

"Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge."

You Have The Power To Find The Path

"We all have the power to find the Path that teaches us, strengthens us, and allows us to move away from the people and situations that hurt us."

-- Susan Jeffers

"Thanks to the power of our inner critics, most of us have a very poor opinion of ourselves. Yet self- contempt merely keeps us miserable and stuck in our mediocrity.

If we were to make only one change to transform the quality of our lives, we might try sending a little love our own way."

-- John Robson

Do You Know That Visualizing Your Result First Is More Important

"Visualizing what you want as if it has already happened takes your attention away from the how part of the change process and places it instead on the result. In this way, you stimulate your subliminal resources, causing the how to become transparently clear to you. How you get from A to B is less important than your ability to imagine what B will be like when you get there."

-- Gary Dooley

Why It Is Important To Write Down You Goal

"It is important that you write down your goal, or your dream, or the kind of life you would like to lead (in whatever form – electronic or paper). Make sure that you can see it every day – there is little point in writing something down and then it disappearing into a folder on your computer or a page in your diary."

What Is Concentration

"Concentration, in the sense in which it is here used, means the ability, through fixed habit and practice, to keep your mind on one subject until you have thoroughly familiarized yourself with that subject and mastered it.  It means that ability to control your attention and focus it on a given problem until you have solved it."

Where Does Your Achievement Begin

"All personal achievement starts in the mind of the individual. Your personal achievement starts in your mind. The first step is to know exactly what your problem, goal, or desire is. If you're not clear about this, then write it down, and rewrite it until the words express precisely what you are after."

-- W. Clement Stone

"Our ego focuses on how we are different from the rest of the world. Our soul lives when we experience how we are the same.  Any time you separate yourself from other people or from situations, you know your personality is in control. At such times, shift your perspective to build connection and you will move into soul.

As our picture of life becomes larger, more things make sense and we have a greater playing field for life to unfold - naturally."

-- John Robson
