When You Pitch Your Tent in the Unknown

"The world needs your contribution, even if that contribution feels awfully small right now. I believe that each of us has a responsibility to use what we have been given—and believe me, girl, you have been given a lot—to build a flourishing world. When we take the risk to erase the lines we have drawn around ourselves that keep us comfortable and we pitch our tent in the great unknown, viewing others as extensions of us, we’ll realize something incredible. The solution to the problems we see? It’s not others. It’s us."

Why Important To Have A Hobby

"It’s so important to have a hobby. A hobby is something creative that’s just for you. You don’t try to make money or get famous off it, you just do it because it makes you happy. A hobby is something that gives but doesn’t take. While my art is for the world to see, music is only for me and my friends. We get together every Sunday and make noise for a couple of hours. No pressure, no plans. It’s regenerative."

The Law of Cause and Effect

"Here’s the first rule of the law of cause and effect: If you do what successful, happy people do, over and over, there is nothing that can stop you from eventually getting the same results that they do. The second rule is this: If you don’t do what successful, happy people do, nothing can help you."

If You Wish Change Some Aspect of Your Reality

"Quite simply, our routine, known thoughts and feelings perpetuate the same state of being, which creates the same behaviors, and creates the same reality. So if we want to change some aspect of our reality, we have to think, feel, and act in new ways; we have to “be” different in terms of our responses to experiences. We have to “become” someone else. We have to create a new state of mind . . . we need to observe a new outcome with that new mind."

Resilience is Built on Failure

"Fail and we learn that putting in effort and taking part is often far more important than the final achievement. We can’t all be gold-medal winners, but we can still run the race and enjoy our personal bests. Resilience is built on failure, and this makes having the courage to fail one of your best attributes."

When You Are Open To Experience

"People who are open to experience are also infinitely more adaptable because their minds continue to grow to fit each new environment they explore. Sometimes that requires drumming up courage or a willingness to test your belief systems, broaden your sense of beauty, or hone your perception of what is lasting and true. And to take it one step further, it means swimming deeply in who you are and who you aim to be."

Come Out of Isolation

"If you’re longing to leave a life of safety for a life of risk, meaning, and impact, then please read this carefully: you cannot get there on your own. You—even you—were made for community. To flourish, we must work with, not against, togetherness, and to prize togetherness, we must come out of isolation and be seen."

At The End of Life

"At the end of your life, would you be prouder of having spent years working and saving to buy a second home or in doing what you can to help the poor or suffering in your community? Would you find more pride in having spent most of your spare time with sports shows and video games or in doing the creative work that you were uniquely suited for?"

Into A Receptive Attitude

"Every muscle should be relaxed and the mind withdrawn from all external things and given wholly to a receptive attitude, so that the Super Mind may come forth into manifestation and energize, illumine, and clarify the outer planes of conscious mind."

The Law of Giving

"To succeed in any endeavor, you must first invest a generous portion of your time and talents if you expect ever to earn a return on your investment. You have to give before you get. It’s all a matter of attitude. You may occasionally be disappointed if you are not rewarded for your efforts, but if you demand payment for your services before you render them, you can expect a lifetime of disappointment and frustration. If you cheerfully do your best before asking for any compensation, you can expect a bountiful harvest of the greatest rewards life has to offer."

-- Napoleon Hill
